AND THEY SAY...

Sensitive matter here. Well, to some it is a sensitive matter.

What is RELiGiON?
Religion is something people hold on to in life. Religion sometimes serves as a reminder life. Religion was cultivated by people of the past and carried on by people of the present and future. There are many types of religion in the world but mostly they tell us the same thing. The moral lessons behind it are the same. I remember growing up, going to church every Sunday morning 8am and then followed up with classes at 10am. Now, whatever happened to that routine? Well, I grew out of it and I witness men and their cruel ways.
Religion in present day is a weapon. A weapon used by almost everyone and using religion as a weapon can be very dangerous as it invokes hatred among society. Recently, there's been a lot of publicity (be it negative or positive) on approving gay marriage, gay rights and living in equality and whenever something like the gay community is brought up, it's only natural that religion is being summon as a tool of creating debates. Religion is also used as a weapon against dressing. We'll get into that later. For now, it's the gay thing.

With all the hype about gay marriage and rights, Christianity is being brought up and according to the Bible (or so they say), gays go to hell.

Question: Does being straight or 'normal' gets you to Heaven?
Question: Does being straight but a bad person gets you to Heaven?
Question: How sure are you that you're going to Heaven anyways?
Question: What is there to guarantee us a spot in God's Kingdom?

We will all eventually have money (some already have) but we can't buy a house in Heaven. All we can buy are regrets. Regrets of yesterdays. Heaven is pretty much overrated. People will NEVER know what lies after death so why are people still so sure that being straight gives them a one way ticket to Heaven and for gays, a one way ticket down to Hell?

Okay, if the Bible says gays are not what God created, that is only because supposedly, God created Adam and Eve so in our eyes, a couple made out of a man and a woman is deemed normal and we start condemning gays and the queer society.

Question: If God had created say...Adam and Jack, then we would see a relationship of man and man as 'normal' so would we be condemning people in a different type of relationship? Just because the Bible says so?

The Bible is a book of the past which tells us incidents in the pass to teach us values of life and humanity, not a book to be used against people (though Bibles are usually very thick and great for hitting people). If there's one thing that we should practice from all this religious values, I believe is loving people for who they are and what they are. If people would take their time and read more on religion, they would realize that religions are pretty cruel at times. With the emergence of the current leading religions (I will not mention but you-know-which), many other religions and cultures were wiped off the surface of Earth. Isn't that cruel? Humans were wiped off the Earth according to 'The Book' when it was felt that humans were too evil. It is said that humans are shaped in the resemblance of God, so pardon me if humans has gotten cruel.

People should just find their own path(s) in life and just get along with it without being binded by words from people of the past or a book written. Our lives aren't written in a book. Our lives may be like a book but its pages are unwritten and it is for us to fill it up with our own 'words', not plagiarizing other books for our own.

People change, that is the ultimate rule of life. When we say things like people don't change, it drives scientists crazy(Meredith Grey, Grey's Anatomy) but in truth fact, people DO change. Deviance in society is normal because we are progressing in life. We are moving forward so having deviance in the norms of days is okay. People should just live with it.

Religion has been used for protesting just about everything, up till the way a person dress. Wearing skimpy outfits or revealing outfits does not mean you are showing disrespect for your religion. Again, PEOPLE CHANGE. We should feel comfortable in our own skin to wear whatever we want.

So, people...STOP using religion as a weapon of destruction towards humankind and to justify whatever act you think is right in your own conscious. For those who use religion as a weapon, shame on you! Hold on to religion because you need something to hold on to. Don't abuse religion.

Question: Does your religion teach you to HATE?

I am a Catholic (used to be a practicing one but now less) and I do hope to find my way back to the Lord one of these days. I am a Catholic and I am also sexually queer (read GAY). I am proud to be gay and also a Catholic. I get questions such as "aren't Christians not allowed to be gay?" Well, whoever said so? Religion does not define your life/sexuality/sexual preference and especially not how you lead your life.
